From Liadan, Coffee Time Romance
"Filled with humor and passion, this story will have you dying to get to the next page...a wonderful story."
Excerpt:
“Dinner time, princess.”

He set a plate of chicken and mashed potatoes on her lap, and as she examined it, she spoke. “Wow, not only do you mend my cuts but you feed me such enticing meals. I am the luckiest hostage ever.”

“Hey, I could just as easily take it back, princess,” Mac challenged, reaching out to take the plate.

“That’s fine, I’ll eat it.”

Stepping around her, he knelt down to untie her right hand. “Don’t make me regret this.”

She pulled her free hand away from his touch and gave it a twist. “How am I supposed to eat this without utensils?”

“It’s chicken, you’re meant to pick it up with your fingers. Or is that too low class for you princess?”

She snarled, responding in kind. “Chicken can be eaten with your fingers, dumb ass, but not the mashed potatoes.” Scooping some on her finger, she daringly flicked it towards his masked face.

His brow lifted beneath the mask, and he admired her boldness. “If you’re hungry enough, you’ll use your fingers.” Wiping it from his mask, he flicked it towards her, hitting her right on that upturned nose of hers.

Aghast, she scooped up the potatoes on her plate and threw them smartly at his face. “Be my guest.”

He blinked with surprise, then decided two could play that game and scooped the potatoes from his face and threw them back at her, laughing at the shock on her face. “Okay, truce.” He held his hand up when he saw the look in her eye. “Let me help you clean that off your face.”

“I can manage, just give me a napkin.” Scooping what she could feel from her face, she flicked her hand, the potatoes flying towards him. “Oops, I’m sorry.”

“Like hell you are.” He decided it might be best to let it go. Standing, he grabbed the napkins from the tray and handed a few to her. “Sure you don’t want me to help?”

“I can manage, thank you.” She took the napkins and began to wipe her face.

“You missed a spot, right…there.” He touched the side of her nose, his eyes meeting hers.

“Thank you.” Her eyes still on his, she wiped the spot he’d touched.

“Here.” Taking her hand in his he felt her pulse fluttering as he guided her to the spot she’d missed. He helped her wipe her face, his eyes never leaving hers. Then her tongue slid from her mouth to lap up the potatoes from her lips and he felt it hit him directly in the loins. God, what he wouldn’t give to feel that tongue on his— “There, you’ve got it now.” Uncomfortable, he sat down, setting his plate on his lap.

They sat in silence, eating the flavorless chicken, neither sparing the other a look. The heat that stirred between the two of them was obvious, and neither knew how to deal with it. Silence remained as he gathered up their dishes and left the room.
