Brian is a SCRL crew chief without a crew. Ever since his last driver retired, he’s been cruising haphazardly through life, carrying the burden of a hidden secret that can’t be forgotten. Forced to leave the intensity of the racing world behind in favor of a much-needed vacation, Brian finds himself at the beach where he meets Jill.

Intrigued by one another’s differences, the attraction between Jill and Brian quickly grows. Wanting to show Brian what’s been missing in his life, Jill invites him into her laid back world. But what Jill really wants is Brian’s heart. Will Brian risk getting swept away by love, or will his fear of once again drowning have him Racing for the Shore.

Editorial Reviews:
From Shiela Stewart author of Discovery in Passion
“A fun and exciting read; this book will have your heart racing.”
Excerpt:
Jill stood by the truck waiting for Brian. She was pissed. “Why the hell did you embarrass me like that?” she demanded as soon as he walked out the door.

Harley, who’d been on the other side of the truck playing his hand held video game, put it down real fast. “Whoa, I’m outta here.” He hurried into the shop.

“You don’t own me.”

His eyes were hard as he stalked towards her, backing her up until she was against the truck. “I may not own you, but while you’re with me, I’m responsible for you.”

“Excuse me?” It was hard to maintain her anger with all this lust swimming inside her. “I’m an adult. I’m responsible for myself. If I want to hang out with Hunt, I can.”

“Oh yeah?” His hands reached up and tangled in her hair. “Do you want to make a bet?” She could feel the gentle pressure of his hands tugging a little bit. How did he know her hair was one of her biggest erogenous zones?

“No, no bets. Just back off a bit.” She put her hands up, trying to find some space, but all she felt were hard pectoral muscle. Bastard.

His head moved towards her until all she could see was his face. “You’re driving me crazy.” His voice was a bit gravely, and he seemed to be having a hard time breathing like she was. “What am I going to do with you?” There was a frown line between his eyes.

“Brian…” She didn’t know what she wanted to say. She was scared. “I’ve got to go.”

“I know.” But he was still gently kneading her scalp, strands of hair sliding through his fingers. Her eyes closed. She heard herself moaning then felt his breath on the side of her neck. “So it’s your hair that does it, huh?” His voice was a soft whisper in the hot summer air.

She couldn’t speak. She wouldn’t speak. He knew too much as it was.

“I’ll remember that.”
